Less Footprint in the Home: COMSAN’s Toilet Seat Carbon Analysis

COMSAN (Complementos Sanitarios SA), based in Gavà, Barcelona, is a family business that has been manufacturing toilet lids and seats since 1963, using materials such as Versagrit® and Duroplast. According to its website, 60% of Versagrit® material comes from plant-based, organic, waste and recycled sources.

“COMSAN has a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to plastic alternatives,” says the Envolta Global team.

On this basis, a detailed calculation of the carbon footprint per kg of product of a COMSAN seat has been carried out, comparing its impact with equivalent products on the market.

The analysis confirms that COMSAN’s seat has a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to plastic alternatives, mainly thanks to the use of raw materials of plant origin and waste, and the optimization of production processes.

Carbon footprint

With this data, COMSAN can objectively support its competitive advantages in sustainability, including the carbon footprint per unit or per kg in technical data sheets, offering comparisons with alternatives on the market and establishing a baseline for improvements in future generations of products.

By rigorously calculating its carbon footprint, COMSAN not only gains a technical advantage over the competition, but can also explain its sustainability story with concrete data. In a market where green credentials are increasingly demanding, this transparency can be decisive in being chosen by manufacturers, distributors and end customers.
