Implementation of ISO 14.001 and integral carbon footprint for MECESA

For MECESA, our proposal was to implement an environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14.001 standard, accompanied by the calculation of the carbon footprint (scope 1, 2 and 3) to integrate sustainability into the daily operation.

Main components of the project:

  • Initial diagnosis of the environmental situation of MECESA.
  • Calculation of the carbon footprint in all scopes: direct emissions (fuels, own operations), indirect emissions (electricity) and chain emissions (raw materials, transport).
Identification of key sources of emissions and definition of reduction targets.
  • Development of procedures, indicators and controls so that the ISO 14.001 standard is integrated into the general management system.
  • Staff training and internal audits to ensure compliance with procedures and continuous improvement.

What does ISO 14.001 contribute?

  • Formal environmental management structure with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory credibility with authorities and clients.
  • Systematic reduction of environmental risks and operating costs (waste, energy consumption).
  • Integration with other ESG certifications and recognitions.
  • Transparency and environmental governance as a strategic pillar.

For MECESA, this combination of the ISO 14.001 standard with the carbon footprint is not only technical compliance, but a strategy to transform the operation into an environmentally responsible company with a competitive advantage. The data obtained will be the basis for improving, communicating and validating the environmental commitment.
