The EU Green Taxonomy is a classification system designed to define which economic activities can be considered environmentally sustainable. In 2025, key updates have been promoted that affect ESG reporting, financing criteria and corporate alignment.

Since the emergence of plant-based foods, a recurring question is: how much more sustainable is a plant-based substitute compared to the conventional one? We have carried out a comparative Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) between UOBO’s plant-based egg and traditional chicken egg, seeking to measure the real environmental impacts and be able to communicate with data, not with empty promises.

Although the IPCC is known for its climate reports, its work also highlights the intimate links between climate change and biodiversity. At the same time, the IPBES platform (the “IPCC of biodiversity”) has published recent studies that warn about the accelerated loss of nature and its global impacts.

For MECESA, our proposal was to implement an environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14.001 standard, accompanied by the calculation of the carbon footprint (scope 1, 2 and 3) to integrate sustainability into the daily operation.

The EcoVadis certification is widely recognized as a standard for evaluating the ESG performance of suppliers. Getting a good score opens doors in global supply chains and improves reputation with large customers.
